Florida Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - Georgia moved one step closer to concluding preparations for the upcoming contest with Florida, conducting a 90-minute practice Wednesday at Sanford Stadium.

After Wednesday's session, Georgia coach Mark Richt met with the media for the final time before the game.

"We're focused on Florida, and it's a very meaningful game to both teams," Richt said. "I know it's more important to us and Florida than the rest of the country. Both of us are not in the top 25 and still dark horses in the SEC Eastern Division race but we're still in the race. We've both lost a big game out of conference; we've both lost two in a row; we've both had a lot of injuries and are coming off an open date; we both realize it's a big game."

Richt provided an update on a handful of Bulldog starters who have missed time this season due to injuries including sophomore running back Todd Gurley, sophomore strong safety Josh Harvey-Clemons and freshman safety Tray Matthews and said all would be able to play against the Gators. He added that Gurley provides an energy boost to the whole team with his personality.

"Todd is fun to be around, he cuts up in the huddle, he enjoys being out there during practice," Richt said. "He is a positive motivator for the team, and if you watch him sometimes during games, he's in the huddle on offense, defense and special teams on the sidelines."

The Bulldogs (4-3, 3-2 SEC) and the Gators (4-3, 3-2 SEC) square off Saturday in Jacksonville. CBS will broadcast the game with kickoff set for 3:39 p.m. ET.
