Missouri Week: Monday Practice Report

Posted Oct 7, 2013

ATHENS - Georgia began preparations for this week's matchup with Missouri by holding a one-hour session on the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the SEC, while the No. 25 Tigers are 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Saturday's game in Athens will kick off at noon and will be televised by ESPN.

Monday's practice was the first for the Bulldogs since their 34-31 overtime victory against Tennessee in Knoxville last Saturday.

"I thought we had a solid practice today," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "One of the goals today was to clean up some of the mistakes we made. We came into today trying to get better, and I think we did. We know we have a tremendous challenge against Missouri on Saturday. It's important that we put together a good week of preparation."

Richt said the captains for Saturday's game will be linemen Chris Burnette and Kenarious Gates on offense, end Garrison Smith on defense, and kicker Marshall Morgan on special teams.

In other news, it was announced that the Saturday, Oct. 19, game between Georgia and Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., will kick off at noon and will be televised by CBS.
