Off Week: Dawgs Practice in Full Pads

Posted Sep 10, 2013

ATHENS - Georgia practiced in full pads for 90 minutes on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs practiced before hosting a group of approximately 50 representatives from Extra Special People for a post-practice meet and greet.

Extra Special People is an organization that assists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The guests toured the Bulldogs' Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall, watched a portion of practice and then visited with the team.

Seniors Arthur Lynch and Aaron Murray have worked with the organization throughout their time in Athens.

"It puts things in perspective, not only as a student-athlete but just as a person in general," Lynch said. "You think you go through some trials and tribulations in life but you see what these kids go through every day and it puts things into perspective. It's great just to give back. This means the world to them, just coming over here and enjoying time with football players. I think your appreciation for little things grows every time you hang out with kids like this and see what they go through on a daily basis."

The Bulldogs will enjoy an open date this Saturday before returning to action on Sept. 21 when they host North Texas at Sanford Stadium. That contest will be broadcast nationally by SEC TV, with kickoff scheduled for 12:12 p.m. ET.
