ATHENS – Georgia will be without Malcolm Mitchell for the rest of the season.

The junior receiver from Valdosta suffered an ACL tear in the first quarter of the Clemson game, coach Mark Richt said Sunday.

“He landed in a bad way on that celebration, and that’s when he knew something was wrong,” Richt said. "I would think that he would get a medial redshirt because this came in the first game of the season."

Richt said he thought that running back Todd Gurley was healthy for the South Carolina game, which is this Saturday.

Richt also didn't comment on the status of place kicker Marshall Morgan. Morgan did not play against Clemson - he was arrested for a BUI in the summer. Richt has not announced if he was suspended for the game or not.
