LSU draws Saint Joseph's in Old Spice Classic

LSU will open the 2013 Old Spice Classic in Orlando versus Saint Joseph's on Thanksgiving night. Come inside with TSD's Ben Love to learn more.

HOOVER, Ala. -- The LSU basketball team will face Saint Joseph's on Thanksgiving day in the opening round of the 2013 Old Spice Classic, as announced Tuesday by ESPN, which owns and operate the tournament.

The game, which will take place in the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, will tip at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time and run on ESPN2.

A total of eight teams will compete in the tournament, which guarantees each team three games. Semifinal and consolation games will be played on Friday, Nov. 29, and the championship game, as well as third, fifth and seventh-place games are slated for Sunday Dec. 1.

Here are the three other opening-round matchups:

Purdue vs. Oklahoma State - Noon ET, Thursday
Butler vs. Washington State - 2 p.m. ET, Thursday
Memphis vs. Siena - 6:30 p.m. ET, Thursday

LSU is entering its second season under Johnny Jones, who posted a 19-12 (9-9) record in the 2012-13 season.

Saint Joseph's, coached by Phil Martelli, finished last season at 18-14 (8-8).
