West Port (Fla) WR has bright future

Drhyomi Maxwell is a very talented wide receiver prospect from West Port High in Ocala, and he's only going to be a junior in 2013.

Drhyomi Maxwell put his name on the recruiting map with a solid junior season in 2012. A very skilled basketball player as well, Maxwell then turned in a tremendous performance this past weekend at the Step It Up Camp in Orlando.

At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Maxwell ran a 4.6 -- a time that will likely creep real close to the 4.4 range by the time he's a senior. His size and athleticism is very impressive.

After a strong 40 time, Maxwell turned in excellent performances in the 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 drills. He talked about what separates him from other players.

"It's my will and determination to get better on and off the field and never be satisfied to be average," Maxwell said.

Maxwell talked about some of his early recruiting interests, along with what things he'll be looking for in a school.

"I like Florida, Texas, South Carolina, and Georgia," he said. "I'm trying to stay focused and keep working hard for this upcoming season and hopefully I'll be able to get a scholarship somewhere."
