Live eval plus video: Dernest Johnson

Dernest Johnson is a good looking junior running back from Immokalee. He had a big game against Godby both running and catching the football.

2014 running back Dernest Johnson was likely the Immokalee MVP in their 21-20 loss to Tallahassee Godby in the state title game. He rushed for well over 100-yards and had several huge receptions in the second half, as the Indians charged back from a large deficit.

There are two things I love about Johnson. First, he's a versatile back. As a runner, he has a good combination of power and speed. He's tough between the tackles. Johnson can run through defenders or make them miss. Second, I love the way he finishes a run. Johnson, 5-foot-10 and 185-pound, will lower his shoulder and take it to the defense and he keeps his legs driving, always moving forward after contact.

Below are some highlights of Johnson from this game. He claims scholarship offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, Georgia and Florida.
