HOOVER Ala. - Georgia will win the SEC East, according to media covering Media Days.

The Bulldogs were picked to win the Eastern Division by 132 voters -- more than half of a record setting 222 total people participating.

South Carolina (72), Florida (12), Missouri (2) and Tennessee (4) also received first-place votes.

"I hope the media’s right,": Bulldogs coach Mark Richt said. "I was looking at the record of picking the eventual champions, it wasn’t really good. Maybe you guys are a lot better at picking divisional champs anyway, but it would nice to get back to Atlanta."

LSU was picked to win the West, commanding 139 first-place votes with Alabama (72) picked to finish runner-up.

In addition, six Bulldogs were noted by the media.

Linebacker Jarvis Jones and safety Bacarri Rambo were named to the First-Team defense. Nose tackle John Jenkins made the Second-Team.

Quarterback Aaron Murray was tabbed a Second-Team offensive selection. Lineman Kenarious Gates and wideout Tavarres King were Third-Team.
