Playing only two seasons in Athens, Knowshon Moreno gave fans great memories on the field and helped make one particular dance popular on the sideline.

After redshirting in 2007, Moreno rushed for 1,334 yards and 14 touchdowns while splitting time with Thomas Brown. Moreno quickly became a fan favorite because of his over-the-top personality. He always seemed to be smiling or dancing – just having a good time.

During the Blackout game against Auburn in 2007, Moreno helped give credibility to a dance song – Soulja Boy – on the sideline. Soon frat guys all over bars in Athens were ‘Cranking Dat,’ but only after Moreno let them know it was cool enough to be done.

He followed up 2007 with 1,792 yards of total offense the following season, scoring 18 touchdowns. He was named by teammates as the 2008 Most Valuable Offensive Player (ahead of Stafford).

Moreno’s signature moment came against Central Michigan in 2008 when he hurdled a defender on a long run downfield – a move that has since been put on t-shirts, hats and photoshopped for funny pictures on the Internet.

He’s also remembered for his touchdown against Florida in 2007 when he dove into the end zone for the game’s first score. The ensuing celebration saw the entire Georgia team run on the field, with Moreno right in the middle of the scene.

His touchdown against Arizona State in 2008, where he dove over the pylon and defender and jumped up quickly with his arms spread wide, is still played on the pregame montage in Sanford Stadium.

Moreno left for the NFL in 2009, drafted No. 12 overall by the Denver Broncos.
