The network has broadcast the contest every year but one (2002) since 1996. Georgia defeated Florida 24-20 last season on the way to winning the SEC East Championship.
The network is the rights holder for tier-one SEC games. CBS also announced its selection of the November 3rd Alabama at LSU game, which is a rematch of the 2011 BCS National Title Game. The Tigers’ game at Arkansas on November 23rd has also been selected.
CBS also announced that it will broadcast two doubleheaders. The weekend of November 3rd serves as the first doubleheader with a 3:30 kickoff game followed by the LSU-Alabama game in primetime at 8 PM. Anther doubleheader has been selected for the following weekend, November 10th, with kickoffs at noon and 3:30.
