ATHENS - Senior cornerback Sanders Commings received a two-game suspension Wednesday.

Coach Mark Richt issued senior defensive back Sanders Commings a two-game suspension due to his January arrest for domestic violence.

A 6-2, 217-pound native of Augusta, Commings was arrested Jan. 21 after an alleged altercation with a former girlfriend.

Commings will miss the Sept. 1 season-opener against Buffalo and the SEC opener at Missouri the following week.

He started all 14 games in 2011, recording 55 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recover, one interception and 12 pass break-ups.
