Athens, GA – Former University of Georgia standout quarterback Eric Zeier has been named as the host of the “Fifth Quarter Show” during the 2003 college football season. The hour-long post game call-in show, which airs live after each Georgia football game, will be simulcast on Athens’ WNGC 106.1 FM and Sports Radio 960 AM WRFC, both Southern Broadcasting Companies radio stations.

The deal was negotiated on Zeier's behalf by Todd France and Mark Carmony of Atlanta-based Career Sports and includes promotional and marketing support for HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation on WNGC and WRFC throughout the 2003 season. Additionally, HomeBanc will receive title sponsorship of the Eric Zeier call-in segment airing Mondays and Fridays on both stations. Tri-County Chevrolet of Royston, Georgia, will also receive promotional support in the deal.

Zeier, who spent six years in the NFL, said that he's happy to get back to Athens and once again be around the University of Georgia football program. "I have nothing but fond memories of my football career in a Bulldog uniform," said Zeier, who resides in Atlanta. "Now that my NFL playing days are over, I am thrilled at the opportunity to do what I love most - talk about Georgia football. I feel very fortunate to be able to partner with great organizations like Southern Broadcasting, HomeBanc, Tri-County Chevrolet and Career Sports."

Todd France, who also represents former Georgia football players Kendrell Bell and Tony Gilbert, said that the chance to get Zeier on the radio made perfect sense. France: "Eric's stellar career at Georgia speaks for itself. He is an extremely likable personality who will always remain close to the program. This is a wonderful opportunity for him to give back to the fans who supported him for four years." - more - - 2 -

Zeier, a four-year starter at Georgia between 1991 and 1994, set 67 school passing records, including most career passing yards (11,153), most career completions (838) and most career touchdown passes (67). Picked in the third round of the 1995 NFL Draft, Zeier spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his professional career. He retired after the 2000 season with 3,520 career passing yards and 16 touchdown passes.
