Jakar Hamilton, a senior, will miss the 2011 season after suffering a stress fracture in his leg.
"Jakar has got some type of fracture that will probably take at least historically two or three moths to heal," coach Mark Richt said. "My guess is he won’t play this year and he probably will redshirt."
The native of Johnston, S.C., has missed every practice in fall camp for what was originally reported as a hamstring injury.
Hamilton, who started five games and made 27 tackles in 2010, will have surgery to correct the fracture. He is eligible to redshirt and return next season.
