Cannon Commits To Georgia

Georgia picked up it's fifth prospect in the 2011 class, adding Burnsville, N.C., center John Cannon Saturday.

"I have committed to Georgia," Cannon, 6-foot-10, 225-pounds, said.

Cannon picked up steam on the recruiting trail this spring, becoming a hot commodity following the NCAA tournament.

He took visits to Northwestern and Georgia, and there was also interest from North Carolina taking him as a preferred walk-on.

After weighing his options, Cannon chose the Bulldogs. As of Saturday afternoon, he had not signed his LOI, but said he intends to do so as soon as possible.

He joins Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Nemanja Djurisic, John Florveus and Tim Dixon in the 2011 class.
