Rambo Out with MCL
Bacarri Rambo

Posted Apr 1, 2011

ATHENS - Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo suffered a right MCL knee sprain this week in spring football practice, according to a team spokesman, and isn't likely to return over the final two weeks.

Rambo started all 13 games last year, finishing with 82 tackles, second on the team. That also makes him the team's leading returning tackler. Rambo, a rising junior, also had three interceptions.

Jakar Hamilton and Shawn Williams are competing to start alongside Rambo, after Alec Ogletree was shifted to inside linebacker. The staff had been cross-training the pair at both spots, although Hamilton has played more at free safety and Williams at strong, with Rambo playing the other spot.

Now Hamilton and Williams will get the vast majority of the first-team reps the rest of the spring, with redshirt freshman Mark Deas also in the mix.
