Green sat out last week's contest, but will play in the Bulldogs' conference opener against South Carolina on Saturday multiple sources have told Dawg Post.
Still, Coach Mark Richt said Tuesday that he is eager to hear from the NCAA. But Richt did not comment on if Green would play against the Gamecocks.
“I’d be highly disappointed if we don’t hear something this week," Richt said at his weekly press conference of the NCAA's probe into the junior, which started earlier this summer.
Green is considered the Bulldogs' most talented receiver, but he missed several games at the end of the 2009 season with an injury. The Bulldogs have not played with Green in the lineup for back-to-back games since October of 2009.
Green is one of four Bulldogs to return to the lineup this week. Alec Ogletree, Tavarres King and Washaun Ealey will return to the squad Saturday. Richt said the three previously-suspended players would return "If nothing dumb happens between now and then."
